Can't you take a hint?
I can't get over how some people just refuse to stop slinging dope. It is very common to arrest a person for dealing, have them get out on bond, and then arrest them for dealing again while they are waiting on their court date for the first charge.
It boggles my mind that someone would have waiting on a trial for dealing drugs and continue to do it. I've been given the excuse multiple times that they are trying to raise money for their legal fees. That kinda makes sense but I don't buy it. Public defenders are available and I just can't get behind selling crack to pay for a lawyer to get you off for selling crack the first time.
When I get a career criminal like this with multiple charges, I sometimes only file on them for one thing and hold onto the other one for later. For example, if I catch someone with crack and driving with a suspended license, I will put them in jail for the crack. Once they bond out, I issue a warrant for the suspended license. Then I am able to stop and arrest them whenever I think they are holding more dope.
It's also fairly common for people to finish their prison sentence and immediately jump right back into the dope game. I guess once a person gets so heavy into that lifestyle, it's all that they know. The way we solve that is by filing federal charges on people. When you get put in on state charges, you usually only do a couple of years and can count on early release. The Feds don't screw around like that. If you get sentenced to 10 years in federal court, you will do every single day of those 10 years. There is no early release and no parole.
The Feds are pretty selective of what cases they will pick up but they will take your problem children. We had one guy in our area that kept going to jail for a few months at a time and then would get out. This must have happened at least five times. He started to think he was a tough guy and would taunt us whenever we dealt with him. After explaining the situation to our US attorney, it was agreed to take him federal on the next dope case he caught.
He talked smack right up until he saw us driving into the federal courthouse and then his face went pale. I'm curious if he still thinks he is tough but I won't be able to find out until he gets out of federal prison 10 years from now.

14 bits of radio chatter:
Niiiiice. The feds are a great tool and it's lovely when they pitch in to help. Those 15, 20, and 30 year sentences are absolutely gorgeous! "I won't see that guy again before I retire." That's a good feeling.
I'd like to see more federal prosecutions, or barring that, an upgrade to state law that eliminated early release for a wide array of crimes.
The war on drugs is a lie.
Wow. A doper out of bed and on the internet before noon. ^^^
Cry all you like, but drugs are still illegal and arresting tools who possess them is fun and satisfying.
That's an interesting strategy re warrant for suspended license. What's the time frame you're talking about here - do you not have SOL issues with this?
9/10 of the time the dealer has another dealer above his head who the get their stuff from. The dealer bails the out just so they can keep dealing.
1) Make lots of money
2) Enjoy your job
3) Work within the law
Pick two.
fuck this "war on drugs".
this shit is being taken and pumped right back onto the streets by the same entity who prosecutes the people selling it in the first place.
don't get me wrong, i understand the need to control certain substances such as heroin, crack, methamphetamines, but the fact that for some reason another HUMAN can not only make a NATURAL PLANT illegal but also arrest you for possessing something that can grow and thrive in nature is ludicrous. it's simply because marijuana is undeniably a huge money maker so the government (who can't tax something that ANYONE could grow themselves) has to resort to busting some 17 year old kid with a dime-bag and throw him on probation so they can take thousands of his dollars one way or another. fuck that. ACAB.
to the author of this article:
you're probably the close-minded spawn of some upper middle class family who doesn't realize that other people have it worse than you and have to resort to any means necessary to provide for their families. get fucked. the reason they keep dealing is honestly because our judicial system is one that once you enter it, more often than not it becomes a vicious cycle...why? so the rich get richer and the poor, less priviledged stay quiet/incarcerated.
LOL I love these guys. I hope he didn't stroke out composing that comment.
i'm relieved that a fourth grader could have formed a more intellectual argument then "johnny law" himself.... i hope this isn't an indication of the average IQ of our police force.....
wow! You've stirred up quite a reaction. I love the tough guy attitudes these shitbags have. Then when the dopers shoot up their neighborhoods and kill their babies it all changes.
I thinks it's awesome that you do whatever it takes to keep them off the street. So would any other law abiding citizen
If you think about it. It is the governments responsibility to keep drugs of the street. When they get through and used then that indicates a failure in the governments responsibility. To expect that these drugs would be not used due to their illegality is silly. How many times a day do you break a speed limit? Wouldn't it be smart to not make a vehicle that can not go over a set speed limit. What use is a car that can go 130 mph or even 90? I believe that the government should do its job, or what use are ya?
Oh yeah, speeding in a police cruiser without lights on is like riding by with a big spleef in your mouth and hooker in your lap.
You let people bail out and then decide to charge them for something else? There should be a law against that. I can't believe you gloat so proudly about it. Wow.
